Sigur Rós – “Lúppulagið”
November 6, 2011 in Audio

There are four things I know about Iceland. One, its name is a misnomer. Iceland is very green. Greenland should in fact be called Iceland, and Iceland Greenland. Two – the residents there use alot of thermal heat to power their homes. I learned that in 8th grade. Three, Bjork is from there. Four, Sigur Rós are from there.
I’m incredibly ignorant about the place, but I love Sigur Rós’ music. Their minimalist-folk style is completely unique, and it is haunting and mysterious and causes me to wonder what their country looks like. It’s perfect study music, but I say that in the best way possible. It isn’t boring at all, but simply thought-provoking.
“Lúppulagið” is beautiful. I only have a stream for you now, but I’ll make sure to update when I get a good download. It’s the first single from their upcoming love album Inni. Enjoy.
