Frank Ocean impresses me so much, from being an amazing writer, rapper, & being incredibly brave to come out publicly, this man is talented anyway you slice it. Today Frank released ‘Sweet Life’ off of his upcoming “channel ORANGE” album (7/14). The song goes down nice and smooth, from the beat to the silky voice of Mr. Ocean. Life can go by so fast, that you need to remember all the things that makes life what it is, amazing.

Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino is back with a vengeance. Since his stellar show Community has finished its third season, he’s back at it releasing tracks off his upcoming mix tape. “Silk Pillows” is co-produced by and features Beck, making this his biggest collab to date. What makes this song great is the variety in it, from the smooth style of Beck to the diverse rapping and RnB styling of Gambino. You have to check this song out, and be sure to look for more Childish Gambino all summer.

Frank Ocean is one of the few artists that makes crying cool. He isn’t afraid to express his emotional side through his straight-up amazing music. All this holds true in “4 Tears”. Mr. Ocean dropped this track last night on his Tumblr page. It’s short, but oh so sweet. I have a slight hunch that this is just a snippet of a full version track that will be located on his debut album, which will be hands-down the most highly-anticipated release of next year. Everything this guy makes is absolutely golden. Enjoy below.
Christmas came early this year! And if you celebrate Hanukkah, consider this the best 2nd day of Hannukkah present ever. Fresh off the presses, The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye has gifted his third mixtape of the year, completing his 2011 trilogy. With an explosion in popularity due to his first two mixtapes, House of Balloons & Thursday, The Weeknd has become the face of the new R&B/hip hop fusion that right now is unique to only him. In the span of a year, he’s gone from basically a nobody to an artist who’s featured on two tracks on Drake‘s album. Talk about a blow up. I’m going to keep my comments short so I can go back to listening to some musical magic. Enjoy.
The beautiful starlet Lana Del Rey has been performing “Off To The Races” live for a while, but now we get the proper single treatment via UK iTunes. I haven’t seen anticipation for an artist’s debut album like I have for Lana’s Born To Die in a long time, but every single that has leaked has been worthy of the hype. Born To Die drops January 23rd.
In my eyes, there are very few people in the world that are cooler than John Legend. The guy has it all: handsome, a killer voice, a smokin’ hot girl, money, what more do you need? The guy just radiates confidence. I look up to him and love his music. “Ordinary People” is still the song I put on late at night when I cry myself to sleep over girls. Maybe that was a tad bit too much information. Nevertheless, “Chasing Your Love” is a slightly different sound than we’re used to him. With a little more rock and a little less piano than usual, this is one of the more upbeat John Legend tracks I’ve heard in a while. This phenomenal track is rumored to be appearing on an upcoming LP of his which should be arriving sometime soon after the new year. Get excited.
